MESSAGE FROM DIRECTOR: SHARON LYNNE

Success does not come overnight, particularly if you are starting off in this industry.

However, if your passion does not wain and you persevere with castings and send-outs, then you will get smaller gigs like pilot programs, music and kids programs (always looking for new presenters); snow reports; advertorial; podcasts and even specialty programs. This is when you use your background knowledge as the ‘expert’ on the show (Like Lisa Chimes in Bondi Vet).

Take the story of Susie Osment. Susie had been auditioning for a few years...only getting minor bits and pieces. She never gave up! ...and her perseverance has paid off!  Susie landed a 13 week part series called “Country Matters” which is a combination of lifestyle travel and agriculture. She travelled in the outback towns of Australia interviewing locals and finding out about their lifestyle. She then went on to audition recently for TVSN.......She is now in training with them ready to launch herself as a magazine advertorial anchor presenter.

I love this happy ending because it endorses everything I teach my students. If you want it that badly....be patient, persistent and keep practicing!! (Susie did a few brush-up courses with me throughout those years!!)

I hope this story will inspire those who really want an entry into this amazing industry....Keep on top of things...stay motivated!....

Warm regards,

Sharon Lynne
